Born in 1908, the last of three children of Margaret Eleanore Binny (née Angus) and Graham Binny. Widely known as “Nap”, he served for many years in the British army with the Royal Engineers and in 1961 was awarded a CBE for his service. He married and had four children before dying in 1989.
